After breakfast, meet your guide for a briefing about your journey before departing along National Road 2.
This eastern part of the island is characterized by dry-adapted vegetation, with dominant species such as ravinala (traveller’s palm), bamboo and grasses (bozaka).
We make a short stop at Mandraka Park, a private reserve also known as Madagascar Exotic. It is a breeding and conservation centre for butterflies and various animal species.
The visit lasts approximately one hour.
We then continue our journey towards Moramanga, where we will stop to visit the Gendarmerie Museum, which has been a member of the International Council of Museums since its creation in the 1950s.
The museum displays a collection of objects and artefacts illustrating important events in Madagascar’s history, particularly from a military perspective.

We continue towards Andasibe National Park, arriving in the late afternoon before transferring to your hotel.

Today is dedicated to exploring Andasibe National Park, a lush rainforest environment filled with vines and epiphytes such as orchids, mosses and ferns.
The park is home to an extraordinary diversity of orchids, with more than one hundred species recorded.
The forest also provides habitat for a remarkable variety of wildlife, including 14 species of lemurs, 51 species of reptiles, including the famous Madagascar ground boa (Acrantophis madagascariensis), and 84 species of amphibians.
The iconic Indri (Indri indri) can be observed throughout the year.

You can also visit the private Vakoana Reserve and enjoy optional walks and canoe trips accompanied by a local guide from the centre.

After breakfast, meet your guide and depart for the shores of the Pangalanes Canal, travelling through Manambato, where we board the boat.
The Pangalanes Canal is an extensive network of waterways stretching for several hundred kilometres along Madagascar’s eastern coast.
Enjoy a scenic boat journey through fishing villages and along waterways leading towards the sea. Depending on local conditions and your preferences, there may be opportunities for swimming and tasting local specialities.
We will also visit a private reserve showcasing the unique flora and fauna of the region.

The Palmarium Reserve, located in the area known as Ankanin’ny Nofy, meaning “The Dream Nest”, lies on Madagascar’s eastern coast along the Pangalanes Canal.
The reserve covers approximately 50 hectares between Lake Ampitabe and the Indian Ocean.
Around ten species of lemurs roam freely within the reserve, including indris, sifakas, crowned lemurs, ruffed lemurs and propithecus.
The reserve also protects a remarkable variety of rare and endemic terrestrial and arboreal wildlife, as well as beautiful plant species including orchids, carnivorous plants, ebony, mahogany and traveller’s palms.

After breakfast, enjoy your final moments along the Pangalanes Canal before beginning the journey back to the City of a Thousand, Antananarivo.
Arrival in Antananarivo in the late afternoon.

Early morning wake-up followed by a transfer to the airport and flight to Sainte Marie Island.
Upon arrival, welcome by the hotel team and transfer to your seaside accommodation.
