Anjajavy – Le Lodge: where nature reveals the exceptional

Wooden lodge villa with a thatched roof, beside a boardwalk, among palm trees and tall trees

At Bemiray Tours, we choose our partners the way we design our journeys: with high standards, and with heart. Anjajavy – Le Lodge is one of the finest examples. At the tip of a wild peninsula in north-western Madagascar, this exceptional retreat, a member of Relais & Châteaux, brings together dry forest, mangroves, tsingy, baobabs and turquoise lagoons in a single place.

We include Anjajavy in our tailor-made journeys and luxury stays. Private flights, transfers, nights at the lodge and activities: we arrange every step, so that all you have to do is enjoy it.

Anjajavy, where nature reveals the exceptional

No road leads to Anjajavy. You arrive by air, after a 1 hr 40 min flight from Antananarivo, landing on the lodge’s private airstrip before reaching the coast through the forest. The journey is already part of the experience: bordered by the Mozambique Channel, the peninsula reveals itself as a world apart, unspoilt and silent.

Around the lodge lies a protected area of more than 10,800 hectares. Its dry forest, ranked by WWF among the world’s conservation priorities, sits alongside three large mangroves, tsingy carved by time and baobabs, including the fony baobab with its red and gold hues. Coquerel’s sifakas leap from tree to tree, brown lemurs watch walkers go by and, at nightfall, mouse lemurs take over.

Luxury at nature’s pace

The lodge has 24 villas built of fine hardwood, inspired by the architecture of Sakalava villages. Each one opens onto a wide terrace facing the sea, where the turquoise of the lagoon blends with the green of the forest. Eight Exclusive villas, with no neighbours in view, offer complete privacy.

Days are shared between the infinity pool, which seems to melt into the ocean, five private coves and the Oasis garden, where lemurs play in the canopy. At the table, cuisine worthy of Relais & Châteaux showcases produce from the region’s fishermen and farmers.

Here, exclusivity goes hand in hand with responsibility: solar-heated water, no unnecessary plastic, local produce and projects run with neighbouring villages. Understated luxury that respects the place it calls home.

The Quintessence of Anjajavy

In a film of less than three minutes, let yourself be carried from the arrival by plane to sunset over the mangrove, from secret coves to Sakalava dances on the beach: the whole soul of Anjajavy, in pictures.

Experience Anjajavy with Bemiray Tours

Our role: to make Anjajavy the highlight of your journey. We coordinate the private flights, transfers and nights at the lodge, and plan your days with you: kayaking in the mangrove, hiking to the tsingy, boat trips to the islets, a picnic in a private cove or dinner with your feet in the sand.

Anjajavy can be enjoyed on its own or at the end of a tour. Our luxury journey ends there, after Fort-Dauphin, Isalo and the Tsingy de Bemaraha, for a gentle finale on the shores of the Mozambique Channel. Your stay can also be fully tailor-made: as a honeymoon, with family or with friends.
